Girls Varsity Soccer Senior Night

The past, present and future converged perfectly for Germantown Girls Varsity Soccer Coach Mike Pudney on senior night. Before a CHVL tilt against rival Heatly, Pudney feted his seven seniors entering their final regular season contest at home. Pudney reminisced about a program that six short years ago had never existed before in Germantown and marveled at the accomplishments of this senior class that has earned two modified girls titles; two CHVL second place finishes and a CHVL co-championship in 2019. After the pre-game festivities, the 2021 team had an impressive finish at home.

The home-standing Clippers out-possessed the visitors throughout the contest. Germantown outshot the Hornets 44-3. Senior midfielder Riley Gibbons and eighth-grade striker Hannah Ferrer led a balanced Germantown attack with two goals apiece. Junior striker Ryane Anderson added a goal and an assist; senior striker Kaycee Hayes; junior sweeper Morgan Staats and eighth-grade striker Marrin Ludwig rounded out the scoring. Senior stopper Tori Decker contributed two assists. Gibbons, Hayes & junior Jordan Wyant added assists.

Eighth-grader Adele Heuer made her first-ever start in goal for the Clippers and earned her first clean sheet of her career, turning away all three shots she faced.
