GCSD Evacuation on Wednesday, October 14, 2020

Smoke emitting from electrical wires prompted an evacuation of Germantown Central School District at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. All individuals in the building were evacuated safely and were accounted for. Most students had not yet entered the building at the time of the evacuation and remained on buses and at the parent drop-off site until approximately 9:20 a.m. Germantown Fire responded and resolved the issue by disconnecting the wires. Germantown Fire declared the building safe for entry at approximately 9:20 a.m. Students were then brought into the building for temperature checks and health screenings. Germantown CSD would like to thank all parents and guardians for their patience, cooperation and understanding in dropping students off at a delayed time this morning.
