Germantown Central School District

Special Education Department

The Germantown Central School District acknowledges its responsibility to educate all of our children with disabilities in the least restrictive, appropriate environment and to assist all students to achieve high educational standards under the rules and regulations of the Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Some students with special needs do not receive services under IDEA, but are served under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Germantown Central School acknowledges its responsibilities to provide these students with reasonable accommodations comparable to those provided to their peers under the rulings of Section 504.

 The Office of Special Education coordinates:

* Committee on Special Education (CSE)

* Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE)

* Section 504
